1. What is WMNLA?  The West Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association is a non profit business group dedicated to the professionalism of the green industry in West Michigan.  WMNLA hosts educational programs and trade updates at membership meetings, address issues impacting the local green industry, provide networking opportunities and professional outreach.  WMNLA is dedicated to the future professionals with sponsoring a scholarship fund to area students interested in pursuing a degree in horticulture or related field.

2. How much is it to join WMNLA?  Cost is $75 for the first year and $125 annual dues thereafter, renewable in July.

3. When are the programs?  WMNLA hosts its monthly membership events from September to March.  September is the WMNLA Golf Outing benefiting the scholarship fund.  October, November, December, January, and February are membership meetings with a planned presentation on a topic relative to one aspect of the industry, i.e., trucking issues, pruning, pests & diseases, family business transitions, business development, or work related issues, for example.  In March is the public event to promote our members to the consumer with an expo and workshops gearing for the spring planting season.

4. Where are the membership meetings held?  The WMNLA meets once a month from October through February at the Harbourfront Place Grand Hall at 41 Washington, Grand Haven, on the second floor above the Porto Bello Restaurant.  A buffet luncheon is included with the program.  Cost is $12 per person.  Casual work attire is standard.

5. Who is a member of WMNLA?  WMNLA consists of wholesale and retail nurseries and garden centers, lawn maintenance companies, landscape designers, contractors, hard good suppliers, landscape suppliers, and soil & fertilizer specialists.  Members are from Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Muskegon, and Oceana counties.
